NEWisconsin MRI Center: About Us History

After extensive cooperative planning, we opened our doors in May of 1987.

The NEWisconsin MRI Center was only the fourth scanner in Wisconsin and the first one north of Milwaukee and Madison.

We have a "high-field" scanner at our Bellevue (East) location and our Lombardi (West) location features a 1.0T "high-field open" scanner. We routinely scan from early morning to late evening five days a week.

Important Events in NEWisconsin MRI Center's History

		1987 First "high-field" scanner north of Milwaukee and Madison.

1992 Built an underground walkway to Bellin and St. Vincent Hospital for easier patient access.

		1992 Addition of a second MRI scanner at the Van Buren location.

1996 Installation of "high-field" MRI scanner at the St. Mary's location.

		2001 Construction of a new outpatient facility in Bellevue with the installation of an "open" MRI scanner.

2002 Installation of "high-field" scanner at our Bellevue (East) location.
		2005 The St. Mary's location was replaced with a new location at 1241 Lombardi Access Road.
2005 Installation of 1.0T "high-field open" scanner at our Lombardi (West) location, which is the second of it's kind in the United States.
		2006 The Bellevue and Lombardi sites were purchased by local, private citizens and will continue to operate under the same name, NEWisconsin MRI Center of GB, LLC. We continue to operate now as an exclusively outpatient focused MRI provider.
